HP has launched two new HP Designjet Latex printers which, says the company, are capable of handling a broader range of indoor and outdoor signage applications with better durability than eco-solvent inks.
The 2.64m (104-inch)-wide HP Designjet L28500 Printer (main picture) now delivers speeds up to 70 percent faster than its predecessor, the HP Designjet L25500 Printer, while the 1.55m (61-inch) HP Designjet L26500 Printer (left) is ideally suited to those looking to enter the growing soft-signage market.
Both the new latex printers can print onto a broad range of materials, including eco-solvent compatible media and low-cost uncoated options to produce a range of products such as point-of-purchase displays, soft signage, backlit displays, vehicle graphics and so forth. The output also dries inside the printer which HP says boosts productivity for double-sided print jobs, and allowing immediate finishing or use. Latex printers also remove the need for overnight de-gassing of printed vinyls for vehicle wrapping applications, meaning they can be immediately applied to the vehicle straight from the printer.
Each printer features the new HP 792 Latex Designjet Inks, which the company says produce rich blacks and glossy results on banners and self-adhesive vinyl, and offer double-sided printing capabilities with less user intervention and more accurate, automated registration. HP says its new inks are compatible with more than 500 media solutions, including the new HP Double-sided HDPE Reinforced Banner material.
